Welcome to my very first blog post! I’m so excited to share my passion for cooking with you all. Since this is my debut post, I thought I’d start with something unique, flavorful, and downright delicious—my Crabby Guacamole Pasta. This recipe is the perfect blend of creamy, tangy, and savory, with a hint of smoky bacon goodness.
I love experimenting in the kitchen, and this dish came about when I wanted to combine the rich flavors of guacamole with the satisfying heartiness of pasta. And what better way to elevate it than with fresh crab meat and crispy bacon?
Why You’ll Love This Recipe:
- Creamy & Flavorful – The combination of ripe avocados, balsamic vinegar, and dry vermouth creates a rich and unique sauce.
- A Seafood Lover’s Dream – Crab meat adds a delicate sweetness that pairs beautifully with the other ingredients.
- Versatile & Satisfying – Serve it warm over fettuccini for a comforting meal or enjoy it cold with elbow pasta for a refreshing summer dish.
What You’ll Need:
Here’s what you’ll need to bring this delicious creation to life:
- 4 ripe avocados (squeezable but not squishy)
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 small jar sliced pimientos, including juice
- 1 small jar (3.5 oz) capers, including juice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 6 rashers of bacon
- Juice of 2 limes
- 2 oz soy sauce
- 8 oz crab meat
- 6 shakes Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 oz dry vermouth
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb of your favorite pasta (I used fettuccini for this recipe)
How to Make It:
- Cook the bacon until crisp, then set aside on a paper towel-covered plate.
- Add avocado oil to the bacon fat, then sauté the onion, tomatoes, and avocados over medium heat. Cover and let cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the remaining ingredients, stir well, and let the sauce simmer over medium-low heat for 15 minutes.
- Plate the cooked pasta, pour the sauce over it, and crumble the crispy bacon on top.
- Enjoy!
Serving Suggestions:
- Warm & Cozy – Serve it over hot fettuccini for a comforting meal.
- Cool & Refreshing – Enjoy it cold with elbow or shell pasta, making it a perfect picnic dish.
- Extra Indulgence – Add a sprinkle of parmesan or a drizzle of extra balsamic glaze for even more depth of flavor.
A Personal Note
This dish was a happy accident in my kitchen, and it’s now one of my favorites. I love how it’s a little bit unexpected—who would have thought guacamole and pasta could work so well together? But trust me, the flavors come together beautifully! I can’t wait for you to try it and let me know what you think.
